Eastern North Carolina Playdates?

Looking To Get Together for Playdates:

Do you live in Eastern North Carolina?

Greenville, Washington, Farmville, Winterville, Bethel, Robersonville, Williamston, Tarboro, Rocky Mount, or Wilson.

I do not have a fenced yard, so the play areas would need to be explored for our Havs to play. I would love to get together with other owners and their fur babies.

Linda

I live in Northern NC and would love to meet somewhat centrally. Unfortunately I don't have a yard whatsoever. I know Kathy ([email protected]) was thinking about possibly hosting a play date. She lives in Winston and owns a Hav-Heaven-Yard. I will pm her to join this thread! Hope other NC members will chime in!!!

Hi Linda
I am in Winston-Salem which is not too close by to you, but know there are lots of NC Hav owners. I am always willing to host a playdate here as we have a big fenced yard and are fairly easy to get to off the interstate. I also do not mind driving as Jackson has finally gotten so he can ride in the car without . . .

I know there are some on this site from Raleigh and Charlotte. Hopefully more will chime in!

At present, I am available to host April 18th or 25th (first April weekend is NCAA BB tournament, next weekend is Easter). Don't know if either of those will work for you, Maryam.

Hi Linda,
We have a home in New Bern, although we mainly live in Raleigh. Our house in Raleigh has fenced in areas, but the house in New Bern is not particularly dog friendly on the outside as it is on the water with no fenced area. It does have a nice screened porch if the number of people and dogs were small enough. Where do you live? I don't know any other Hav owners in the Eastern part of the state although I've met 3 more Hav owners in Raleigh within the last few months. Jocelyn

We live in Greenville; New Bern is about 45 minutes away. Depending on where you live in Raleigh, it would be about an hour to get there ( 1 1/2 hrs to get to the airport).

Dexter is still very shy and timid. We went to our 1st Puppy Class last night, soooooooooooooooo more exposure to dogs.

We went to the Puppy Park today and stayed for a good 30 minutes........still very shy. Dexter had two small dogs sniff him over really good. Dexter pretty much stayed at my feet and wanting to be picked up. We are making progress though!

Raleigh is 1.5-2 hours away from us and I would definitely do the drive if someone from that area is willing to host a play date.

I live close by to Charlotte, NC but.....Raleigh is such a distance (for me anyway). I am not a highway driver especially with two pups...anyone in the Charlotte area wanting to attend, I will surely pay for the gas if they want to pick up passengers. Hate to miss it, but the distance is greater than I am up to. Anybody in the Charlotte, NC area interested be sure to let me know....or option 2: With that being said, if you need a place, I do have a modest-sized fenced in yard...heavily landscaped with tons and tons of pine bark (not a plus in my estimation) but I would be willing to have something here before my spring clean-up is done. Fair warning, we live on a golf course and there are golf carts going by constantly. And I always pray there are no bad swings. Not an issue in my estimation but felt you might want to know...and you would be SOOOO welcome.

Ok............. We need to study the map of NC and come up with something.

I am free the week of March 15th if we want to do something soon.

Sharlene, are you near Rock Hill? Charlotte/Rock Hill works well distance wise for Maryam and myself, plus there are others in Charlotte (new Hav mom, Bev) and I think there are others. Might not be as close for you, Linda. Our wonderful state is just a little too wide to make everything convenient. Maybe we need to have and East and a West playdate!
