Ball in mouth all the time

Diva loooove a her Chuckit ball above all other toys. She carries it around all day and when we're not playing fetch with it she is often just sitting around at it, gazing lovingly at it, even sleeping with it in her mouth! I'm happy that it brings her such joy but is it safe to sleep with the ball in her mouth?

That's just freakin' weird. No offense, ha ha. It does seem rather OCD, but I would rather see a dog (or person) with enthusiasms than one who is bored. I don't see why it would be harmful. I know those balls are pretty small, but not small enough that she could choke on it, I wouldn't think. Could you manage to get it out of her mouth after she falls asleep, at least? Diva seems like such a little lady, I'm sure she wouldn't tear your arm off. Or would she?

Emmie loves her ChuckIt balls too but I don't think she's ever fallen asleep with one in her mouth - how adorable! I think Diva's all right.

Emmie is so cute with the ball in her mouth.
We need a picture of Diva doing this as well.

Henry has regular tennis balls that he licks and rips apart - are theses chuck-it balls more durable?? (so sweet when our havs look at toys lovingly)

I don't see any danger so long as it's big enough and can't swallow it. This does sound like possible compulsive in nature if she is fixated on it to this extent. How is her life in general. Is she active playful and mentally stimulated enough. Generally most CCD's (canine compulsive disorders) are stress related. Problems might arise if this toy is not available or someone especially a stranger tries to take it away. Does she become anxious if it is out of reach or out of sight. Is this nylon in nature ie. like a tennis ball, if so it is not good for teeth as nylon is quite abrasive on tooth enamel. Just some things to keep in mind.

What a great picture of Emmie and her ball. The orange and ball really stands out with her black fur. Love her little pink flower too.

I think as long as she gives it to you when you ask (for a treat or some other favorable item), then it's fine.
