Quite a few people shop at PetEdge.com -- good prices, good service

I think it all depends on what you are looking. I do like some of the feed stores as well- way cheaper for bully sticks, some dog foods, chews.

Around here, the little dog boutiques are very expensive (there is one here!) but I will often find something I want there and purchase it online- ebay is often good. But I do like for harnesses, collars to be able to try them on the dog. Our havs are often a different size since they are slightly longer than tall and just with my own havs who are about the same height, one is more bigger boned than the other.

I like pet edge for some items as well although you have to wait and order everything at once with them cause they get you on that min order fee. I also get a lot of items at dog shows cause you avoid shipping costs.

Are there items you are looking for in particular?

I only buy food /treats/ and toys at my local pet food store but I've found a couple of ways to make my dollar stretch buying Merrick treats.
I buy 4 ft bully sticks @ $9.99 and cut them into 6 inch lengths with pruning shears...I also buy bags of Hungry Dog treats instead of buying them all seperately.
Hungry Dog treats are Merrick 2nd's..they are just as good as the individuals just cut to the wrong size or broken pieces that would nornally be thrown out.
The bag is 2 lbs and usually has a mix of pig/sheep/cow ears, Texas Taffy, bully sticks, flossies, sausages, meat patties, with a few pieces of rawhide (I throw those out) and usually one big bone (which I also throw out)...it's at least $30 worth of stuff and I pay $9.99 for it and it last Todd about a month.

Eva, I just found out about those Hungry Dog Merrick bags of treats, too. I have not seen one in the store, but I did see them online. We love Merrick products, and I usually wait for a coupon from our local store (Pet Supermarket) before loading up on the food, plus Merrick sends e-mail coupons if you sign up on their site. I cut the flossies, pig ears, everything in smaller pieces too! They also have an on-line member program, but I haven't taken the time, yet, to calculate the savings. Our store has a member savings program, too, that helps.

I have also found a harness for Jackson's car seat recently on eBay that saved me about $6 plus free shipping. I am really having to discipline myself right with the dogs since the economy is so weird and DH in the financial investment business.

I love Petedge. I order the Frontline from them and that gets me up towards the $60 minimum order pretty quickly.

Sam, Cuters Mill in Paoli is really nice. They are not cheap, but if you sign up for their store card, they will send you coupons in the mail for 20% off one item once a month and some other specials. It is a good deal if you need something big. Also, Braxtons is great in Devon. They are very knowledgable, but again, not cheap on most things.

No, nothing in particular, I just have not been in the "dog world" for many years and was wondering where the best places were to find reasonably priced and good products... So far these forums have given me great answers so I figured it may benefit others to read info on where to shop, especially in these challenging times.

Thanks for the info, did not know about Merrick bags, one more thing I did not know about...
