I'm giving a Kong now to Reo. It's the first time I've used one. I decided to start this because he's not doing well in his crate at night. He's not settling down, he's pacing and started to lick his feet. He's working on it now but the only thing he seems to be accomplishing is pushing the goodies down and compacting them so he can't get them out at all. Is that the point? Can't they injure their tongues if they get obsessive? Am I over-thinking this? Does anyone have any advice? Thanks!

Manny suffers from separation anxiety. I thought he was doing better because I don't hear him barking when I drive up tho he's whimpering when I'm at the door. Started leaving a frozen Kong for him when I leave hoping it would help the anxiety. He doesn't touch them while I'm gone. Any other time you can't pry them away from him. I'm going to keep leaving them...if nothing else it's a good indicator that he's still anxious while we're gone.

I didn't freeze them the first few times I gave them to him and he compacted a lot of treats. Since I've started freezing them he doesn't seem to have any problem emptying them. They also last longer, i.e., he's quiet and can entertain himself for longer periods of time!!!
