Not a picky eater but OCD!

For almost 10 years it's been a struggle with Bella. She is so picky! I've tried every food from wet, raw, dry, people food etc. She refuses to eat out of a bowl. She would just push the food with her nose….Over the years, I noticed if I give her little individual piles of food on the floor, she might eat. Lately, she's been refusing her breakfast. This morning I tried something new. I fed her off a plate. I lined her food along the edge of the plate and noticed she started to eat. I continued lining up pieces of food and she ate her entire meal!! She worked her way around the plate eating one by one. Never going for the pile in the middle. I think she is just OCD!!! Check it out…..

That is a riot! As a mom to picky eater, Molly, I can sympathize.

That's too funny. I find changing their bowls and the location of where they eat triggers something in their little heads that makes them think they are getting something amazing.

I always put a handful of kibble in a small tupperware for later.I'll put Djangos food in his bowl and he runs to it, then runs to the area on the kitchen counter where I have placed the extra kibble. I open the lid, pull one piece of kibble, make a huge deal about it, put it in his bowl and he eats like it's his last meal. If I don't do that, sometimes he won't touch his food.

Gucci is VERY OCD, with many, many things. She likes things a specific way and will only eat certain treats for certain things, its crazy..she loves cheese but will only eat it after a bath when I am blowdrying her out. She likes to have her food heated a certain way, not to hot..not to cold, she humps her bear at the same time every day or when we come home from an outing, and she flips her nose up at most food and treats that other dogs would kill for. Even filet mignon or prime rib..just flips her nose, lol

I think these things are funny to watch. She prefers plates to bowls as well, I have to get special plates, large ramekins

Gotta love that Bella! Only you would arrange that food so systematically, who's the one with OCD? LOL If it makes you feel better Tim seems to be afraid to eat out of "pet" bowls so I feed them out of our bowls which totally grosses out my kids, but oh well.

Too funny! Gucci is a hoot!

I am a bit OCD you are correct!

I am glad to hear Bella is not the only dog turning her nose up to filet! I will say this is such a turning point for us! I'm going away in July and I was afraid my new dog sitter wouldn't be able to get her to eat. Now I can just tell her to line up Bella's food like little soldiers...lol!

Linda, you may scare off your new sitter before she gets there! I'm also happy to hear that I'm not the only one with a dog with "issues". Hey, I have also OCD so at least I can sympathize.

LOL! Fred also has OCD. If I put anything on his body, he rubs all over my walls. He just paces back and forth rubbing along my walls. It will go on for 20 minutes if I don't stop him! These guys just crack me up. What are we to do but go along with their idiosyncrasies

I was definitely in need of a good laugh, and this whole thread did it for me, but the comment above pushed me right over the edge. Thanks, you guys, you're much cheaper than therapy!
