Eating habits - playing with food

Hello,

I just thought I would like to share how Momo likes to eat nowadays. I put down the food for him. He ignores it. I ignore him. Some time later, he barks at the bowl a few times, runs towards it, backs away. Then, he takes a couple pieces and run with that in his mouth. Sometimes, he flings them around. Then, he puts them on the floor and eat them.

Then, he runs to the bowl and back a couple times. Then, he gobbles up his food.

I feel like he has a lot of predatory tendencies. hehe He also likes to attack his toys, shake them around and fling them.

Do your babies like to play with their food?

Bella doesn't play with it, but will push her food with her nose into a pile. I throw her food on the floor. It's the only way I can get her to eat. If there's a piece of clothing lying around, she will take it and cover her food. I am convinced she has a rare eating disorder.

Havs are so much fun to watch! Dexter will sometimes eat what is in front of him like he is starving and then some days, he will eat less than a 1/3 cup the entire day.

He will take a few bites and walk away and come back again on some of his meals.

Charlie plays with his food as well. He will take one piece of kibble and fling it around before pouncing on it like a cat. So fun to watch!

MacGyver used to play a similar game, only we'd have to toss the first pieces onto the floor. He'd throw them around, eat them, then take some more from the bowl and play with them. Sometimes he wouldn't eat at all. Now, though, he scarfs down the whole bowl with no playing.
