Hey Sheri, that's great. I sell jewelry and beads/supplies on Etsy, but I think I buy more there than I sell, and I have yet to be disappointed. Many of the sewers there are very experienced and you will generally get a high quality product from them (though I'm sure there are some less experienced seamstresses selling their wares there, too). I bought a couple of zippered "wristlets" there a few years ago and they are incredibly durable, nary a stray thread anywhere. Had I bought them at Target, they would be in a landfill by now.
A word of caution about custom products though - be as descriptive and specific as you possibly can, even if you have to send photos and drawings to communicate exactly what you want, because I've read of a few disappointments when people didn't receive what they had in mind. If you are buying from someone who knows dogs, already makes dog clothes and products, you'll probably have the best luck with them in getting just what you want with a good fit.
Let us know how it works out!
