Two ladies making coveralls for our Havs...

I can't remember who was working on an idea for a coverall-type outfit for our havs that would cover body and all four legs.... (Can't find the original thread, either! )

It seems like Julie was going to work on it, too...

Any news?

You two come up with something? I'm SO anxious to find something before summer gets here and I take Tucker to the mountains for vacation and he gets covered from head to toe with tiny little burrs each time we go out for a 5 minute potty break.

My fingers are crossed!

Oh Yikes... that was me and Julie. and then real work kind of took over in my life. All I really have is the idea...no real skills to make it happen.

Julie, any other thoughts?

Wow, Sheri, Missy, Julie, that would be great . . . I took Jackson to the beach for Thanksgiving last year and it was disaster everytime we went out . . . sandspurs from head to toe no matter where we went. It was so awful that I swore I'd never take him back. But coveralls on the hand . . .

What about a cute onesie shirt?

Linda, a onesie wouldn't cover the back legs, too, with a cut out area for potty purposes.

Even though I don't like garment sewing, I'd love to find even a pattern that I could sew up myself....

Hmmm...since Gucci's mom does something like that, maybe I should post her...

Try www.etsy.com , search on pets, and if someone doesn't have a product like that already, many of the people who sew (for dogs or humans) are happy to do custom orders, usually quite reasonably priced. It's a good idea to find a seller who has mostly or all positive feedback on the items they've sold, particularly if it's a product similar to what you are looking for.

Hey Sheri, that's great. I sell jewelry and beads/supplies on Etsy, but I think I buy more there than I sell, and I have yet to be disappointed. Many of the sewers there are very experienced and you will generally get a high quality product from them (though I'm sure there are some less experienced seamstresses selling their wares there, too). I bought a couple of zippered "wristlets" there a few years ago and they are incredibly durable, nary a stray thread anywhere. Had I bought them at Target, they would be in a landfill by now.

A word of caution about custom products though - be as descriptive and specific as you possibly can, even if you have to send photos and drawings to communicate exactly what you want, because I've read of a few disappointments when people didn't receive what they had in mind. If you are buying from someone who knows dogs, already makes dog clothes and products, you'll probably have the best luck with them in getting just what you want with a good fit.

Let us know how it works out!
