Good alternative to Flossies? Check these out

I found these at a local pet store the other day and the gal said that they are essentially the same as Flossies, dried tendons, just not curly. They are a little wider and a little bit greasy to the touch, so the process is somewhat different. They are a whole lot cheaper, though and Marley likes them a lot.

At the petstore I paid $1.09 each and I cut them in half since a whole one seems too big for Marley.

One one website, they show in with the Flossies, but it doesn't say which company actually made them.

Anyone else who has tried them and has an opinion?

No, I haven't tried them but I want to. I've never tried Flossies as they are quite expensive and we have 5 dogs. They go through Greenies quite fast so I could only imagine how fast they'd go through a $5 flossy!

Do they smell?

I have never given a Greenie because I've heard so much bad stuff about them, I'm scared to try them.

The second site has a great price on deer antlers. My guys love them and we pay $10-$12 each for them at our pet store. Have you ordered from that site before?

I get these for my pups (http://www.dog.com/item/old-west-bee...rips-for-dogs/), and they look exactly like what you're getting, Alexa (and, they're a little cheaper!!). Also, I found these vendors on Ebay for flossies http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-50-CT-CASE-M...3A1%7C294%3A50 and http://cgi.ebay.com/50-Merrick-6-8-F...3A1%7C294%3A50. Both of these places are selling the flossies for about $2.20 each and with free shipping! I ordered from the Allison Park, PA vendor and received the flossies in four days. You can always find a good deal for flossies on Ebay!

Greenies don't smell. I never heard bad things about them. I haven't given them to my dogs in over a year as they only cause fights. Each have their own but the ones that finish them fast end up stealing the slow pokes. Pretty nasty fights and they don't often fight over things...

I find that flossies, bully sticks and greenies are soooo expensive and none of my three are into them that much. They much prefer raw knuckle bones I get from my local market at $0.79 per pound and they love them!!!

I bought a couple of wishbones last weekend for Todd and Sophie.
Sophie ate them both within hours and so I bought a couple more this week so that Todd could try them.. He really likes them and they seem to last quite a bit longer than a flossie.
I pay $2 each at my local pet food store.
I haven't noticed a smell from them but they are a bit greasier that traditional flossies.

I've been wanting to get some of those. They last forever don't they? We currently have been giving cow hooves to chew on, and the smell is horrendous. Of course they have to kiss me afterwards! The smell even lingers in their beard, lovely..

There have been problems with greenies causing blockage/internal damage and death. Here's a quick reference (quoting a CNN report) http://www.dogster.com/forums/Dog_Health/thread/287246
