Linda~ We had a great time there last year. Unfortunately, this year we won't have Amanda with us, but Carole and I will be there on Friday. We'll be sure to stop by and say hi!

These are friends of Sue Nelson and many SCHC members...

Well I know most of the folks...from Deb on one side to Linda Spencer on the other. Sue Nelson, who passed away, is in the middle. The tiny one is my Daughter Alana. Lynn is also in the photo.

Gosh, I need to go back and remember the names. I know the dogs though!

I didn't even notice Alana was in there until you said she was! LOL

I'd love to come to an expo like that, DH would have a stroke because I'd buy so much stuff. Hope you guys have fun!

I am completely jealous! Last year I went with Leslie and Carole and we had a blast. I was able to see my first cat show too- now that was interesting. There were tons of rescue groups and pups which was so sad. Here is a video of some of our fun sites from last year. Lots of shopping and I received tons of freebies (even though we didn't realize it was unlimited-HAHAHHAHAHA! I can only say that cause we were on the other side of the petco freebies and didn't see the sign one item per person and we all loaded up!)

Thinking of adding a Neezer, check out this thread!

Spending, the first year was the worst...

I had only Riki as a puppy the first year. I actually know two people who got a havanese after meeting him because they liked him so much.

Here are the things I didn't need that I bought: an under-seat travel case for airplanes (I had big ideas about taking him everywhere until we got Daisy); a carry-dog purse (he hates it although Daisy likes it); a doggy sling (that I gave to someone else); a deluxe four poster bed (that Riki peed in because the cats liked it); hello kitty leash and harness; lots of toys and treats; samples of tons of different raw foods; havanese t-shirts (which were too big but I had to have them); doggy switch-plates; and I think that is it!

The next year all I bought was a dog bed that was a bargain. The last few years all I have purchased are good dog brushes, shampoos and combs at discounted prices. I don't think it is a good idea to bring a credit card either. Of course, the first time I was there all three days so it was completely new to me. Now I have two dogs and know that you don't need half the stuff you think you do.

Right now I am cleaning my bedroom and looking at their costumes from the five years of easter and howloween parades, the different types of leashes and harnesses I tried, and the different kinds of crates. A lot of this is going to the local animal shelter and dog rescue.

I remember when Alana was born and all the stuff I never used, especially the expensive changing table! You learn.

The best part of the expo is seeing all the different breeds. Riki only barks at the pit bulls. Some of the other havanese bark at anything bigger than they are! This was Sue Nelson's baby...and we missed her last year...and will again this year. Ah, but what a tribute to her this is.

Last year we were next to the Shiba Inu's and it was sort of scary. I also hope we aren't so out of the way so people can find us!

I didn't just get havanese, I got a lifestyle!

Love those ice-cream cones!

Amanda, Riki is so scared of the llamas! He just doesn't know what to make of them! Daisy doesn't really care, she is more scared of moving trash bags at night!
