Skipping

Ginger does this skipping thing with her left hind leg which I first thought maybe she stepped on something and got it caught in her paw. She's been doing this since she was about 6 months old. Her leg seems fine and does not appear to bother her in any way. She does it when she is walking fast. Anyone else experience this??? It's cute but if there's something wrong... (the vet didn't didn't think there was a problem).

It can be a sign of luxating patella, but if the vet didn't find anything, I wouldn't worry. I had a Bichon who skipped occasionally, but it never developed into anything.

Luxating patella (or trick knee, subluxation of patella, floating patella, or floating kneecap) is a condition in which the patella, or kneecap, dislocates or moves out of its normal location. Patellar luxation is a common condition in dogs, particularly small and miniature breeds. Sounds like Ginger may have LP grade 1.

Here's an article from Dr. Karen Becker: http://healthypets.mercola.com/sites...-pet-dogs.aspx
