Help with coughing

Tugger woke up this morning with a cough and has had an occassional barky, cough all day. Everything else seems fine, he is eating, running around, getting into trouble....

all I can think it could be is kennel cough but he is up to date on all his vaccines. He met a dog at the kids baseball diamond last weekend who was coughing. We got far away very quickly but maybe he caught it then.

Can a dog get kennel cough even though they are vaccinated? Is this serious enough for a vet visit or will it go away on its own.

Not all vaccinations work on every strain of kennel cough. Just keep an eye on him ,it usually is not serious . Runs its course in 2-3 weeks. Keep away from other dogs. Can possibly be transmitted to humans. Its a virus ,so antibiotics are useless. Doggie version of the cold.

If it continues tomorrow I would take him to the vet. Our Lab got it even though he had all vacs - It was a simple med and it was gone!!!
