how to introduce new puppy to my cocker spanial and yellow lab?

Hello all!!! We will be getting
our little girl in about two weeks. We have a seven year old cocker spanial and a eleven year old lab. They are both females and fixed. I was wandering how we should let them meet for the first time. I thought that maybe you guys can share some of your experiences with us!!! I am getting very excited and nervous too!!! but i would say more excited though We have a great breeder that is sooo helpful and I feel like she will
a big help
Thanks,
Meg

How exciting!!!!

After a marking disaster from my Dad's Jack Russell when he first visited with Ricky here, we have decided that any dog coming into our home should first meet with mine out front, in the yard/driveway before coming in. The JR had visited several times before we had Ricky and never a problem, but within minutes of seeing Ricky here, he peed on my living room rug and pooped on my shoes by the back door!! We were all shocked!

When we brought Sammy home after a long 2.5 hour car ride, we had the kids meet us out front with Ricky. They are both males, same age, so we weren't sure how it would go. No problem, and never a mark or territorial fight.

I'd suggest having them meet in a neutral area and also having the other dogs walk into the house first, the pup following behind. I think it reassures the older ones that they are not being replaced or threatened.
