Weeping eyes, is it common?

Hi all

Barney is now 2 years old and does not have bad weeping eyes compared to some I have seen. We notice on some days a small amount of "seepage" in the corners of his eyes and just wipe it away and he is usually good for another day or so.

So in general he has a small patch of stain , but as he has black fur around his face it is not very noticeable like it would on white fur.

His tear ducts do not appear to be blocked after a recent visit to the vet and it does not seem to bother him at all. Otherwise his eyes are clear and healthy looking.

Just wondered how common it is for havanese to have weepy eyes? We tried the angel eyes natural, but to be honest not sure if it actually worked. Any feedback on this would be great.

Many thanks

Mr B

Some Havanese are being bred with rounder eyes and shorter noses, The farther things go in that direction, the more likely it is for the dogs to have problems with weeping eyes because of mis-shapped tear ducts. That's why this problem is even bigger in breeds that areSUPPOSED to have short noses and round eyes, like Lhasas, and even more, Shih Tzus.
