Weaning puppy off egg yolk? help

Hi,
thanks for your responses regarding my egg yolk question. I am not sure if feeding the daily egg yolk is something I want to continue. My questions are:

1) my puppy is 12 weeks old, and currently getting 1/2 a yolk per day. If I were decide to wean him off it, is it better to do it now, or when he's older?

2) I know I have to do it very gradually. Any ideas on how long of a time frame for the weaning process?

Thanks for your help. I'm so worried about doing it 'incorrectly' and possibly causing problems. But not sure if I believe it's necessary to do the egg yolk every day, especially when there is a chance it could be bad if it's stopped suddenly.

Can you call your vet to ask?

This is something you should probably contact your breeder about as to why your puppy was on egg yolk and how to wean him off. Maybe your puppy has something in his lines where the egg yolk would be beneficial?

Thinking of adding a Neezer, check out this thread!

JMO, but I doubt most vets would have any idea about yolks and puppies. I know most doctors get very little training on proper diet and I would think vets don't either.

I would think to drag it out two weeks or even longer. I had one of my dogs on egg yolk for the first year but he doesn't get it now. I weaned him off it very slowly.

Have you spoken to your breeder to let her know you pefer not to give the yolk?

Mine have had it off and on and I never knew anything about weaning it off slowly. Is it really a big deal?? I would ask your breeder.
