Primary Care Taker?

What percentage would you say your dh or significant other is taking part in caring for your fur baby?

I figured ....just because the fur babies are in the home...they the dh must be doing something...so, I will give at least 10% credit.

Well, I won't say it's half and half as I'm home more often but when he's home, he does all the poop duty, feeds them and plays with them. He also helps at bath time and every once in a while training, so probably 40%. Then again, getting a dog was also his idea so if he didn't help I'd probably be a pretty upset wife, and I'm sure he doesn't want that!

Well, it all depends who you ask, me or him. If you ask him he would tell you 50/50. I admit, he tries. But he is a man (sorry you wonderful capable men out there). If he does the laundry, suddenly I do it wrong. I have no idea how I managed to load a dishwasher until the day he did it. If he fixes dinner, suddenly he is now a gourmet chef and tells me how to cook. Sooo, when he takes care of the dogs, he is now the dog expert and chief caregiver. The pups are a lot of work so I appreciate all the help he gives....but truth be known...maybe 70/30.

I would give say 30% but our duties are a bit uneven. He has only bathed the dogs like twice ever when I wasn't available and something needed to be done-butt wash and grooming is a lot of the work on these furry pups. But he is the official pooper scooper so maybe that should be 20% of the duties. I probably feed them about 80% of the time but it is because I am kind of crazy about their food. I do a lot of the training but I am the one who likes performance, he doesn't. He likes doing tricks and having fun. He chases Dash around the yard daily, plays barking dog with Dora, and always has official Belle night time duty. I think overall, I am pretty lucky but what can I say, he loves them just as much as me.

Okay, maybe I am a great wife or he is a great husband, I just asked him and his answer: not much... 10% maybe

Ok...........Maybe 30%; Since I work 3 nights in a row, dh does have Dexter duty from 6pm-7:30am and then 11:30am - 2:30pm on my sleep days....well, maybe 35%, but that is all. I wanted the pup, so Dexter is really mine, but we did have a talk that if we did get the dog, dh would have to help me out since I am still working and dh is home 85% of the time.

I am the pet person in the family. I grew up with cats/dogs. I do not think my dh ever had a pet growing up in the home.

I know if he had more time, he would be involved more. And if I ask for help with them, he will do it. like when we are on vacation. He walks them, play on the beach, etc. But because of his work schedule, it is hard for him to do more. He loves them to pieces and spoils them way more than I do.
