Bully stick questions

I can't thank everyone enough who recommended the Moo brand bully sticks. They really don't smell at all and Baxter loves them. He's on a special diet (Royal Canin limited ingredient venison and potato) and is doing so well on it. I've been giving him a bully stick for about 1/2 hr. at a time, and it lasts him about a week. He's had no soft stools so far so yay!

My question is, how small do you let it get before you toss it? As soon as I see he can fit the whole thing in his mouth (about 2.5 inches long or so), I throw it out. Is this right? Or, should he be able to finish the whole thing off? Just wanted to know what everyone else does, since they are so darn expensive! Also, just curious, how long do you let your hav chomp away on it? I try to make it last the week--- what do you all do? Thanks

I throw it away when it gets to that point too, I'm afraid they'll choke on them. Flossies they usually finish though as they wind up with a much smaller piece at the end. I prefer Flossies to bully sticks.

Good question and I am glad you asked. I was wanting to know that too. I throw them away when I feel they look like a choking hazard.

I also throw the small pieces out, usually about 2 inches, but Pixie is pretty small for a 9 month old at 9 lb. I really love that these don't smell. My pet store owner recommended them to me and said their not smoked. I think that's why Pixie likes them better...I bought one from her at $5.99 and then bought the rest on E Bay, at about $3 each.
