Angry I HATE those Seed Thingys!

I hate those tiny little seeds that stick on ALL sides! These seeds must be out there now, because Dexter has found them when I decided to mark some trees that I wanted down in our wooden back yard.

Well......I had Dexter out with me and wanting him there with me all the time and giving him some freedom. I would call Dexter to me, just so I would know where he was. Dexter was a good boy!

That afternoon, I found those tiny little sticky seeds on Dexter's belly area and legs! These seeds can be removed, but it takes a little time and of course Dexter has to stay still (which he does not like, but I insist, so he behaves)...we work on removing the seed things a little bit during the afternoon.

Then, today I find some more of those seed things on Dexter, so we are at it again a little at a time, so Dexter does not hate grooming.

Does anyone else know what I am talking about when I say those tiny little sticky seeds?

No, I am not sure what you mean by little sticky seeds, but if you're in NC, I am sure I will be finding them on my dogs any day now too. God knows, I have found everything else on them.

I am wondering about Japenese Beetles that we will be seeing any day now. They grasp onto anything.

Already pulled two beetles off of Murphy and one out of his mouth!

No seedy things yet though.

Boy, do I know what you're talking about!!! We just moved from NE Oklahoma to central Texas, and those stickies are EVERYWHERE!!! My husband and I were walking the pups on a sidewalk; Havanna stepped off the sidewalk for less than a minute, and I had to pull 13 of those things off her.

Ewwwww. Great !! They stick to my hair !! And they are not easy to remove either. They only last a month but I hate those things and they destroy your plants/flowers....what is left of mine anyway.

Hopefully we will get lucky and not have the sticky black seeds (no such luck probably).

I went walking out in the wooded area behind us to see if I could find the plant/weed that had those sticky seeds and could not find them.

I am thinking the seeds are at ground level in the wooded ground because that is where Dexter was walking. These seeds are not in the grass.

The seeds are tiny (about the size of a writing pen tip) brown, sticky but does not stick your fingers when the sticky seeds are pulled out of the fur. The seeds feel like tiny hard balls in your fingers.

I had to slowly work the seed to the end of the Dexter's fur, then the seed comes out. I must of taken at least 20 or so of these seeds out of Dexter's fur.

No more walking in the wooded area for Dexter!

Ugggh....I hate the sticky seeds! I have them here in TN, but they are yellow, not brown. The plant is at ground level right now, but grows taller as the summer goes on, and they are everywhere along side the road. So, just a stop to piddle can be a problem. My girl is a australian shepherd. Her hair isn't long, but it's long enough for these things.

Honestly, I don't even think she has to touch them! She just can walk by and they just eject from the plant and get tangled in her hair. Really, it seems like they just 'know' when to shoot out and grab onto the dogs hair! This is how I feel when I forgot to watch out for those things. It can certainly take a few minutes to go thru and get those many, many little yellow seeds. Ugggh.

Doesn't it just make you want to keep the dogs inside and never let them out....It is one thing after the other.

And the Southern states....this rain is driving me nuts !! Still !!! When we have rainy weather we have accidents....galore. The past 2 days, Evye has pottied in places she has NEVER pottied. We have a drought for years on end....I get 2 dogs and now we are unindated with rain, rain, rain !!!
