The more Kepler's coat grows out after he was shaved down, the more I'm noticing that he's not just black and white. As you can see from the pictures below, he has a brown "mask" around his eyes, and his ears and the top of his head have brown hairs scattered among the black and white ones. I'm not seeing anything about this on havanesecolors.com. The eyes are kind of sort of a point pattern? The ears and top of the head look more like brindling, but can you have brindling just on the face? Any thoughts?
I've also noticed something very interesting about his coat texture. Along his spine, the hairs grow almost coarse, definitely not silky, and the tail isn't silky, either. The rest of his body feels smoother but not silky. However, when you part the coat so it lies down flat, it's super soft and silky smooth. I notice this especially on his head. When pet him casually, it doesn't feel like a havanese coat ought to. It feels like a poodle or bichon who has been recently groomed. But when I tried parting the fur on his head and patting it, it felt exactly like the other havs I've interacted with. Is this just the way a short havanese coat feels like?
