Feeding Transitioning from Puppy Food

My Haanese, Marley Anne is 10 months only and soon will be going from puppy food to adult food. Currently she is on IAMS puppy food for small puppies and toy breeds. I would like to stay with a dry kibble that is both nutritious and good for her digestive system. Nibbles is best because she does attend daycare. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Truffles breeder recommended Acana Grasslands. I always keep a bowl of kibble available although they do eat chicken or beef with vegetables also. I also add Grizzley Salmon Oil to one of their two meals as recommended by the breeder. Yesterday I bought a box of Honest Kitchen Preference and would like to try Karen's recipe. Seems like it would save alot of time preparing meals for the fur kids

every dog is different but I would make a step up from Iams. The more you research the more you will learn what might be good for YOUR dog.

DogFoodAdvisor is a great resource for researching dog food.

By the way, kibble that is labeled puppy food is more of a marketing gimmick than anything else.

My guys have been thriving on Taste of the Wild kibble. There are several different formulas with less common sources of protein (i.e. duck instead of chicken, bison instead of beef). I tried a lot of different premium brands before TOTW, and this keeps my dogs happy with nicely formed poops unlike some brands which were too rich (Blue Buffalo was one of them)

Do check the Dog Food Advisor for more suggestions.

We have had good luck with Taste of the Wild also. I like Nature's Variety Instinct as well.

My Popi gradually shifted me from Royal Canin that I was eating as a puppy (recommended by breeder) to Honest Kitchen Preference with added shredded boiled chicken breast or white fish filets. I love the taste.......BUT.......my energy level started to decrease, I slept more, and I was lethargic. For the last week, my Popi has been feeding me Royal Canin for one of my daily meals and Honest Kitchen for the other. Almost overnight, I have more energy, I am more alert, and I feel like my old self again. My Popi says he is dumbfounded!

All doggies are different, I am only telling you my experience. I can see that Popi is going to be doing a lot of experimenting with my food until we get it right,,,,,,,for me.
