So how often do you bring your Hav to the vet?

It should be an annual visit right? and I'm a little confused on what vaccines if any----Can someone clear this up for me?
I was there earlier in the year for bloodwork to make sure he didn't have heartworm,so I got the Interceptor. So they should only check that once a year right?
Duncan is also due for his rabies vaccine in August. So already they got me coming more than I'd care to....
Does anyone here do vaccine annually? I was under the impression that once the puppy shots and 1 year boosters were done, that was it for vaccines with the exception of rabies which is annual...
I'm so confused////

Well if you ask me... I need to have a frequent flyers (visitors) plan with mine and get a discount! I'm in there all the time for health testing and breeding and puppy shots

Check with your vet and see if they offer a "shots clinic"-
My vet has one, where I can make an appt with a vet tech, they take the dog and do the shots- I only pay for the shot itself, and I don't have to pay for a full office visit.

My vet (office workers) type the dates, what is due and when, on the bottom of the current bill. I had the vet give both of mine the 3 year rabies shot. They get yearly boosters for things like distemper, which I just read is running rampant in our area

Well for shots, only once and I have decided to not do shots on my adult dogs other than rabies. But my new vet has a one time office charge for the year and you can bring your dog in for a wellness check up at any point, no charge (that is pretty awesome and I used it once already!) If you come in for an emergency, etc- there is an office fee though. I do like to do the once a year visit to check up on weight and I have been running blood panels every other year on my dogs as a check up.

I brought Cody in last month for his yearly visit. They gave him a 3 yr Rabie shot and the yearly booster also (Distemper and such) my vet also asks me to bring a fecal sample to test and they do a blood test for heart worm on the same day. $255.00 later...... If you think any of the other shots are not necessary, I'd love to hear back because it's so darn expensive . But these guys are great and I love them to death!

Mine go once a year for a wellness check or any shots they need. Right now they are due for heartworm tests and some vaccines. My vet sends a postcard and also emails when visits are due.

Mine go at least twice a year. The vet and I both like to space out the vaccines so if there is a reaction we can narrow down what caused it. That said I will say we are there more than twice a year since Zoey is prone to pancreatitis, we have been in three times already this year. Of course once was for spaying.
