Using Baby Wipes

I've read that it's ok to use baby wipes for spot cleaning on the pups. Is it ok to use the baby wipes around the eyes to help clean the goop under the eyes. Thanks for the info.

I use non-scented ones on Whimsy just to keep her fresh. It's part of her grooming routine ever day. I wipe her little butt even if there is nothing sticking on it. She is used to it...and she expects it actually. Creatures of habit. I use them on her beard occasionally too or a damp warm washcloth. For her eyes I use Walgreens Brand Sterile Soothing Eye Wash Eye Irrigating Solution to clean under her eyes. I just put some a round cotton pad (that you can find at any cosmetic section in the store ) and wipe gently.

I use a washcloth and warm water on Sheba's face each night. I'm sure baby wipes are ok, unless there is an allergy of some kind.

I use a wet cotton ball to soften the goop and then a flea comb to comb it away from the eyes. I use baby wipes on the face but not on the eyes as they might irritate them.

I agree with everyone else. Baby wipes have their place, but around the eyes, I'd use something that specifically says it is eye-safe. Earthbath makes eye wipes for that purpose if you want the convenience of wipes.

Oh! Another kind of wipe I REALLY like once your pup is older and outside off-leash is the Nature's Miracle wipes. They are GREAT at removing odors of… WHATEVER your sweet little doggie rolls in!

I use a washcloth or damp paper towels on Emmie's mouth, especially after meals. I don't trust the chemicals in baby (or disposable butt) wipes for her face as myself and others have had a reaction to them. I sometimes use pet wipes on Emmie's paws when we come in from outside or else I stick her in the kitchen sink to wash her little feet. It gets pretty muddy here in the Pacific NW and she goes on a few walks a day so dealing with dirty paws is an ongoing issue.

You ain't Havanese unless you have dirty paws! and Momi and Popi have a white sectional couch that I claim as my own, here in Mexico. It is so cute when they go ballistic! My Momi says her new best friend is a spray bottle of fabric cleaner! I get a paw cleaning every morning when we get back from our 1 hour walk on the golf course and into the mountains, and if I hold real still and cooperate I get a Chicken Liver treat. Momi and Popi are SO easy to train.
