How to convince husbands that they have MHS

Now that we've had Buster for almost 9 months, I'm convinced that for his happiness (and mine) that he needs a brother or sister. He hates when we leave him and he loved visiting with my mom's dog in Michigan and having a little buddy. The problem is my husband, he refuses to get another dog until we move out of our apartment (so at least another year possibly a year and a half). How did everyone else convince there husbands or roommates or significant others that for the mental health of everyone in the house you should get another havanese?

I just bugged the crap out of him, and was sad, until he said yes! Now I have 3!!! Getting the second one was the best thing we ever did. I am sure that everyone who has two will agree. It is such a joy to see them get along, become friends, and then you both have someone to sit with at night!

LOL, My DH told me it was utterly rediculous for me to want another dog. I told him it was utterly rediculous for him to want another golf club. He got the point............

I'm working on bugging him day and night, but he does have a good argument. The apartment isn't that big. But then I see Buster carrying around his little stuffed animal dog, playing with it like it is alive and his best friend, and my heart breaks. You can see him with his "best friend" in his bed in my signature photo. It's adorable.

Carole, that is too funny - but so true!! I know many people who have two, in an apartment. They dont take up much space, and when you take one out, you just take the other. There is nothing better than having more than one!! I would send him emails with pics of the pup I wanted. I would call him and sing a song with the pups name in it -- it was so silly, but he knew I would not be happy till I got the next one!!

I pushed and pushed for number 1, then I pushed and pushed for number 2. He never really agreed to either, just got pushed into it. It is funny because he really didn't want a second. We had my mom's hav visiting last week, and my husband told me he thought Bacca would be sad when he went home because he had to be an only dog again and the three boys were having so much fun together. I had to remind him that Brady was an only dog for over 2 years. Now, Brady (and us) would be lost without Dugan.

Karen, I remember when you guys visited to meet Dugan and Scott seemed so reserved at first, until we saw the two of them bonding while Brady was licking my face off!! I cannot imagine Brady without Dugan or Dugan without Brady!

My Hubby kept saying "NO" also because our Phoebe was a basket case..so I let him go to Florida on a golf trip for two weeks and when he got back I started crying on the way home from the airport picking him up..he felt so guilty we went the next day and picked up Benji. I had been on line that two weeks and found Benji while he was gone..Hey it worked!!But he agrees that it was the best thing for everyone..Phoebe even lets him pet her now..Yeah!!

I would send him puppy pics and in the subject line write, "Are you my daddy?" He agreed! I love having 2 and they really have fun together.
