Please do your research. There is more and more research suggesting that there are a LOT of health benefits to putting off spay/neuter until after the dog is sexually mature. AS LONG AS you are SURE that you can avoid her becoming pregnant during that time.
For some people, any health benefits to late spay/neuter are outweighed by the inconvenience of handling a bitch in heat and/or the health RISKS of an unplanned pregnancy. So the right answer for every dog in every family won't be the same. Just make sure that you have made an informed decision!
