Baby Swallow

My dad knocked down what he thought was an empty swallow nest.. Only to find out it wasn't empty. There were 5 babies & 3 of them were dead before he knocked the nest down. So, as my mom was researching what to do with the suriving 2, one of them died We've been feeding it through out the day. Every 30-45 minutes. I'm about to do the last feeding here shortly. It seems to be doing well. Now hopefully this poor little thing makes it through out the night...

He's doing pretty good, I think as I'm no bird expert. Whenever we peek on him he has his mouth open. He doesn't chirp yet. We're hoping to take him to a wild bird rehabilition center either tomorrow if they're open or Monday.

I have raised baby wild birds, its good your taking him to the wild center, because it is extrememly time consuming, but doable.

I use to use a mix of canned cat food, wheat germ, bread crumbs, and hard boiled yolk. You could even go to the petstore and buy bird formula to mix with it.
Good luck

The lil guy made it through the night! I peeked at him or it rather before goin to bed @ 2 am & he had his little mouth waiting for food. We usually had to coax him to open his mouth so we could feed him so I was a bit suprised when he attacked the dropper!

Aw good for you. I hope the baby survives. Baby bird rescue is very time consuming.

Blessings, Luna and the girls
