Humping my kids arms. Grrr, help

So our just-turned-seven-month old recently started humping my kids arms. I told them not to let her do it so they stop playing with her when she does. Is this the right way to handle it? She's getting spayed on Tuesday, will it stop then?

She doesn't do it to anyone else, so far. And it seems to be when she' ssuper excited about/during play time.

Spaying did not help with Molly. She was always humping her larger stuffed animals. I finally took them all away because I did not want it to progress to humping people. No humping since then.

Some dogs continue to hump even after spay/neuter, because for a lot of them, it's just a sign of over-excitement, not specifically sexual.

It's COMPLETELY up to each family to decide how much humping to accept, whether the animal is entire or neutered. Some people don't want their dogs to do it at all, others are OK with them humping "things" but not people. My personal opinion is that you really should discourage the humping of people, just because it can be very embarrassing for/with visitors who don't understand dogs.

But you are right, just disengage when she does it and, if possible, redirect her to a more acceptable activity such as a yummy chew item.
