I agree with Dave... The best sex is whichever puppy has the best personality to click with YOU. Whether the boys will pee on themselves depends on several things... How long their coat is, how windy it is... And whether they lift their leg at all! Kodi doesn't lift his leg to pee, only when he marks. I never let him near verical surfaces (places that other dogs might have peed on) on walks when he was a puppy or adolescent. As a result, he was well over two before he even lifted his leg. the only time he gets any pee on himself is if it's very windy so his hair blows under him. I would suspect that this could happen with a long coated girl too!

I was pretty sure I wanted a girl but I couldn't be happier with my little male pup Archer. The breeders often have a great feel for which individual puppy will fit your situation. From what I have heard and seen, individual personality seems to be a much stronger trait than gender as for the type of dog you end up with.
I would pick the one that comes to you. My girl and boy are both very lovable. Truffles is more assertive and will not allow Scout to get more attention. I have never had a problem with Scout lifting his leg. Sometimes it is necessary to wipe Truffles back paws.
