Microchips

Smarty will get her chip next week with her final shots. Is there any difference as to which one, what kind? As you can tell I have never had a chip inserted before and want to make sure I make the right decision.

Both of mine have Home Again chips. I like them because you can have their medical info online if you need to show someone vaccines etc... also have a photo id card printed. I just got them chipped so i havent been able to really see those features yet. I just pray i NEVER have to use it!!

Home Again is nice because you can register online and I love doing anything online vs. postal mail, but my current dogs mostly have Avid. There's no real difference here because our veterinarians all read both. Most shelters read both or can at least tell which one you have so they can use another scanner that will read the other brand.

Thank you for your help, Home Again is the one my vet uses. I just wanted to make sure there was not something better everyone else knew about.

Shannon, I would be a basket case if I had to use, never thought I would get this attached again to a puppy.

Smarty has taken over our lives. We do everything around her. I had a Ch. Boxer that took every step I took for 13 years, when I lost him I thought never again. And I've been very good a keeping a good distance from my heart with the other dogs, then Smarty came along and changed it all.
