Who Wants Two?

Two Havs that is..........But are afraid to jump in just yet or dh will surely blow a gasket?

My dh has already asked....."So when are we getting another?" Because, I told him, if we get one, we will probably have two Havs.

I told dh probably not until next year....wonder if I can last that long!

You have the green light from your DH, and you've already waited this long? Go for it.

I've thought long and hard about getting a second and have decided for now the answer is no. I really wanted Hobbes to have a brother or sister to play with and keep him company but he does like his privacy and I think it would be a bit more work at this time.
Especially on weeks like this.
This week I'm thanking my lucky stars I only have one since for the first time in 3 years he snuck into my DD room and peeded then this morning snuck into my DH office and pooped! He has a doggy door!!! WTH! I'm guessing it's the endless rain her in NJ but if I had 2 right now I think I'd scream. Plus I slipped on our wooden deck and hit the deck. Thats when I found the poop.

If I had my hubby's approval I would've had one or two more to join Buster by now! The only thing that's really stopping me is that my Hubby has said that he will be more willing to discuss the matter of having 2 havs when we buy a house next year. I can't wait. I want a pack of Havs . . . but 2 will do for right now.

A second puppy will takes lots of training and time commitment, which I have with Dexter....just need to work on Recalls for now......Dexter is so hard headed sometimes!

I can start looking and wishing/hoping.....Daughter will have her baby girl hopefully in late August, so I do not want to upset the new arrival of the little girl.

Linda, congratulations on your new granddaughter. Does she live nearby? Wonderful exciting news.

I never really wanted two Havanese. Smarty was my dream puppy. She came by her name honestly by learning everything super fast, I’ve had many dogs in my life but never one like her. House breaking was never an issue. I gave her and she gave me 100% attention. She went every where I went. Galen just kind of happened, no looking on our part, she was meant to be a part of our family. And Smarty is so much happier with a friend she can really play with. Dear husband now has his puppy, Galen really butters him up. I do miss some of Smarty and my alone time, but she is much happier and once Galen is house trained she will be a great addition to our family.

Having 2 HAVS is someting I'm "toying" with for the future. (at least 1-2 years in the future). I found out my apartment complex will allow 2 small dogs, I had thought the limit was 1. It probably depends on georgie, if after a year he seems a bit bored and really likes other dogs which I think he will once I can have him meet other dogs then another hav is a definite FUTURE possibility. I can see both sides to the issue. but seems like once you have one, if you train them right two shouldnt be too much harder. More med bills, they don't eat much, a little extra if you board them or get sitter when needed but they would probably do better if you are away if they have a "pal" with them.

So once your life is settled to where you think another Hav would fit, I'd say go for it.
