Watching Cash...

I was running out the door this morning to work and noticed Cash's left eye was all swollen... It had happened since his breakfast. So I call the vet, she can't see me til this afternoon. (I absolutely had to be in work today) In the meantime I ask if I can give him a 1/2 benedryl. She says absolutely and try a cold compress... when I notice his other eye is beginning to swell too. So then I get nervous about leaving him at home. call our pet sitter, can't get a hold of her, so I call my DH to see if he can come home and work from home today and take Cash to the Vet. Yes! so off to work I go... I am less than a 1/4 mile from work and I get rear ended by a man who looks like Albert Einstein.

DH told me the Vet was not concerned as the Benedryl must have taken down the swelling. But he just reported to me that Cash seems out of his skin...rubbing his underbelly and acting extremely restless. running up and down stairs and scratching everything, himself and biting pillows and scratching chairs which he never does.... I can't wait to go home.

Missy, I am so sorry about Cash. I have no words of wisdom but sending hugs to you and Cash.

Any chance the Benadryl has worn off and the reaction he had this morning is reoccuring.

Poor baby. It sounds like an allergic reaction of some sort. (Reminds me of how my nephew reacted to nuts when he first developed nut allergies.) I hope they can find the cause and that Cash gets some fast relief.

Oh no Missy.

Did you check for any black fly bites? This is how Ry was and I had to put the cone back on, it took forever for those bites to clear up. Poor Cash, I would keep giving him the benedryl my vet told me 25mg every 12 hrs is ok for Ry's size.

Oh crap! What a day! Poor Cash. Wonder what's bugging him? I hope it's nothing too serious that a couple of doses of Benadryl can't fix. Keep us posted and give him a hug from me, 'k?

Were you hurt in the accident? A lot of car damage? ((hugs)) Missy

Oh Missy, this sounds like one of those "I should have stayed in bed days." It does sound as if Cash was bitten by something and having a reaction. Maybe after another dose of Benadryl and a nights rest he will be okay by morning. Maybe if Cash gets sleepy from the med you can then look over him to see if he has any bite places. I assume you were not hurt and went to work. I hope there wasn't much damage to your car.

Gee Missy what a horrible way to start the day. How is Cash doing? And, are you ok? Hope tonight is better than the day was.
