Dreams

I wonder what dogs dream about. This morning, Maya started growling and yipping in her sleep. She almost never growls. I always wake her when this happens and she will go back to sleep without a problem, but was just wondering.

yeah some research shows they go through the dream process similar to humans ... quote " "The animal is certainly recalling memories of those events as they occurred during the awake state, and it is doing so during dream sleep and that's just what people do when they dream."
I bet there's a T-bone steak in there somewhere. Let the girl dream, she might be getting lucky.

It depends on what Kodi's doing in his sleep. Sometimes, his feet are twitching and his tail is thumping, and he's making these little "chittering" noises. We cal it "chasing wabbits" and leave him alone. Once in a GREAT while, he'll have a dream where it is clear that he is Having a bad dream... Growling or crying, and his body language, even in his sleep, seems stiff and distressed. If that happens, we do wake him. Interestingly, when woken from that type of dream, he wants to get under the covers with us, as deep down as possible, and definitely seems to be seeking comfort.
