Housetraining and Bells

While checking out Sue's dog attack article I found this on housetraining and bells. It's better than my previous article in that it discourages the dog wanting to go out just to play. https://mrsbehaviour.wordpress.com/2...-of-the-bells/

I love our bells. We have a big house with lots of people in it most of the time, so sometimes a dog that has to go needs to be able to make her needs known! I admit, Sheba sometimes rings just to go out and enjoy the warm weather but this is decreasing. If she's just been out, I say "you've just been out!" And she sheepishly comes and sits down. It's not a perfect system but it works for us.
