My precious Boo kitty died

I spent last week in OC, NJ with my children and grandchildren. When I got home my DH said he had some bad news. He said he thinks Boo had a stroke that he can't move. My daughter and I went downstairs and it was apparent that he was comfortable but dying. We sat and petted and kissed him and cried our hearts out. Courtney was talking to him and he started to rouse and tried in vain to get up. We should have just sat quietly and left him die peacefully but we were so heartbroken that we called his name. I told DH that we needed to get him to the emergency vet because I was afraid at that point he was in pain. He died while he was there from heart failure. We have only had Boo for five and a half years as he was my mother's cat and I cared for him after she died. My mom rescued him and had him for about 5 years so we assumed that he was maybe 12 years old but the vet said he was mid to late teens. I have spent the weekend crying over my beloved Boo! He was a gorgeous Apple Head Lynx Point Siamese and was the biggest love baby. His beautiful blue eyes were the exact shade of blue that my mom's eyes were. Now that I have lost him I have lost my last living link with my beloved beautiful mother. My heart is breaking.

My thoughts are with you. Losing a precious furry family member is heart wrenching, no matter what their age!

I'm sitting here crying with you. At least you had the moment to be with him and let him know how much he was loved before he crossed that great divide. God bless you all as you go through the difficult grieving process.

All my life I've been a great lover of animals, though it translated more often into a love affair with dogs than cats. However, there have been two times in my life when a cat held my heart in it's paws, the latest being a strong and mutual adoration with my son's cat Felix. He's been a difficult cat to love, or so I'm told by strangers that he's hissed and swatted at over the years. But for me, we have a connection so strong that he rushes to curl up on my lap, his paw on my arm, whenever I go to their house. They're moving to Arizona in a couple of months and I already feel the wrench of his absence in my life.

I'm so sorry for the loss of you dear Boo. I've had several cats throughout my life who I still hold in my heart. It is so difficult to lose a special fur baby, especially one who's linked you to a loved one. God bless you as you grieve.

I am so sorry for the loss of your Boo, with all the pleasure we get from our beloved pets we have to accept the pain of their leaving, but the good times last so much longer than the bad. That is why we keep doing this. The best way to honor one pet's passing is to get another one that needs you.

P.S. We have a rescued Jack Russell, who is at least 12 years old that is Miss Boo.

(((Holly))) you know I met Boo kitty and he was a beautiful cat who Murphy loved to play with! He was more than a pet to you, he was your last living connection to your mom. Just imagine how happy she was when Boo crossed that Rainbow Bridge!
