Sleeping UNDER the bed, a problem?

When we brought Murphy home we had both dogs in crates but then decided Scooter could sleep in his little dog bed which he loved. He was doing great in it but has lately started going under our bed to sleep. He starts out under there but during the night goes to his dog bed or lies in front of Murphy's crate. (The dog bed and crate are right next to each other.)

Is this weird or am I over thinking this and worrying too much?

Over thinking......Some dogs like the dark, some are hiding from the storms.

Smarty starts out on the floor by an AC vent, moves to under the bed, then joins us on the bed. She is always by me in the morning. Galen is still in her crate at night and when we are not home. She seems perfectly happy. When we say "night, night" she goes in her crate, lays down and we don't hear a peep out of her until around 7:00 am.

Murphy, being used to the security of his crate probably likes to be confined when he sleeps. Under the bed is a secure spot. Rico starts out on our bed, but moves to the floor or to one of our closets later on. I think he likes the closet if it's stormy out. Feels safe enclosed in something. He's free to go wherever he likes.

Ann, My Pom slept with us for 10 years then we got another bed and she would not sleep on it....after 10 minutes she would jump off and go under the bed where she slept for the next 7 years. It bothered me at first but she also started going to nap there during the day so I figured she liked her new darker spot. Cicero still sleeps in his crate at night and loves it...but he takes his naps in the wide open spaces...belly up!

Guess I won't worry then. Murphy loves his crate and goes right in at night, sometimes during the day he's in one of the crates downstairs for a nap so we know he likes it.

I worry too much.

Maybe you guys snore!

And he likes his peace and quiet. Both of my dogs have dens under the side table where there is a cloth hanging. They like to go their to nap...it is dark and private, like a den!

I didn't just get havanese, I got a lifestyle!

LOL Linda, could be. You can ask Marj after Chicago, she and I are sharing a room.

Ann, Lincoln has always slept under our bed since he outgrew his puppy crate (which was very quickly!) He loves it under there. It is HIS spot and somehow Scout KNOWS it. Lincoln will nap under there too in the daytime sometimes.

My only worry is if the bed were to collapse. It is unlikely and there are two safety posts under it. But, of course, I worry sometimes about that...
