Moose antler infested with maggots

I am reaching out to this forum to see if anyone has had a similar experience. I just received 2 new moose antlers from a reputable company I read about on this forum. My 8month old puppy was chewing on this antler last night. About 30 minutes after he was done chewing on it I notice a bunch of "white stuff" by the antler. I went to pick up the antler and look at the "stuff" on the floor to realize the "stuff" was moving. My husband said they were maggots from the antler. I was so grossed out and thought that my dog had been chewing this bone throughout the day terrified me!
I called the vet immediately and they said to watch for vomiting or diarrhea in the next 48 hours. Of course this morning Rocky had diarrhea so I am now taking him to the vet to have him checked. I have the antler for them to analyze and see exactly what it is crawling in the antler.
Has this every happened to anyone before? I cannot tell you how disgusting it was!! had to vacuum and thoroughly clean my family room completely last night,

No, I have used Moose antlers regulary for as long as I've had Kodi. I would immedieately call the company and tell them what happened. I'm sure they will want to know!

I did contact them this morning and received a call back from the owner of the company. She was very apologetic and appreciated being notified. She told me that to her knowledge this has not happened before. It is the same company you purchase your antlers from. It is not the companies fault, just a fluke!
