What dog food to feed our dogs??

I'm convinced that at least some of Quincy's health problems were caused by my ignorance and trying to 'save the bucks' with his dog food. I just bought him whatever....of course he got most sick when I started buying Natural Choice dry food [their wet was recalled but they never recalled the dry even though you have to wonder] which was $30 a bag. He always always has had allergies [itchy red skin] and ear infections his whole life, poor guy.

Anway...it got me thinking and reseraching....

There is debate on raw diet vs. not raw. But most everyone agrees 'human grade' is best.

I've read about Fromm's, Paul Neuman's, Nature's Variety [this one's raw] being all good.

I've been feeding Quincy Eagle Pack Holistic Select Dry and Merrick Homestyle Wet when he will eat.

What do you all feed your dogs? What did your breeder recommend?

Thanks!

Trish

Sorry I tried the search but none were solely about brands...

they were either specificly about one brand like 'fromms' or buried in other discussions. I thought it would be nice and easy to have a 'dedicated thread' that I could print out or others could easily reference.

Thanks.

Hee. Hee. Does anyone use Paul Newman's??

I really like his philosophy and that he gives proceeds to charity. It would be great if this food was also good for the dogs....

[Can you see me trying to sheepishly go back to topic and ignore my outburst??]

We feed our little guy the small breed Eukanuba on the advice of the breeder. That's what he got when he was at the breeders and that's what we give him. Radar really likes it. We don't give it to him really that wet, just until it expands a little bit but still has some crunch to it. He really likes to crunch the food. I figure it's good for his teeth and for teething as well. We're gonna give him a brush this week. Get those Choppers nice and clean. My Wife and I have been giving Radar these treats sparingly with parsley and euclalyptis in them for his breath. He really seems to like them. I figure we can get his breath nice and fresh while still training him. We would usually give him part of the treat if he had eaten his poop one day while we didn't catch him to eliminate that "Not-So-Fresh" Breath. His Very first Vet Appt. is this Monday coming up. We'll give an update when he's done. Any Advice on what to expect after the visit?

Derek
