IN THIS ISSUE
Issue #32 of The Havanese Breed magazine continues our 6th year in publication. I hope you all continue to enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy putting it together. All back issues are available at any time. Use this link to place your order: http://www.havanesebreed.com/past-issues/
In issue #32 we have the following articles:
We lead off as usual with an article by Gillian Ridgeway entitled Great Expectations which draws a comparison between reality and our great expectations before the pup arrives into our home. Then we have some recommended reading by Dr. Karen Becker which is self-explanatory: This Vaccine Can Impair Your Dog’s Immune System. Surviving the Festivus for the Rest of us by Joan Weston is a light-hearted look at the combination of outdoor street festivals and bringing your dog along. Barking by Dave Thorpe covers a subject of interest to anyone with a dog. Suzanne McKay continues her articles on Coat Change. Part 3 focuses on Coat Change in the senior dog. Agility at Home by Inge Shears describes her continuing journey in Agility with her two Havanese. Then Darlah Potechin contributes and article on a subject close to many of us titled What’s in your Garden? Havanese and Autoimmune Problems by Rita Thomas touches on an important subject of which we should all be aware. Lyndall Fry writing as her dog Saki shares her journey with her two Havanese. Seadog and Loving It is her latest contribution. This time in her column, A Uniquely British Perspective, Wendy Allenby conducts an interview with Tracy and Paul Clayton, the winners of this year’s Best in Breed at Crufts and the first Havanese UK champion. Then Sue Edwards writes about the Havanese Club of GB Dog Show 2015. Going back to the past, written 14 years ago but just as viable today, To Breed or Not to Breed, That is the Question is by Sierra Milton. We can learn comparing older articles with today’s reality. Talking about her dogs and haring photos, Impressions of Silk Kennel by Monika Soltvedt has been contributed by a Havanese Breeder from Norway. Intact or Not? Why Should That Matter by Tom Wettlaufer takes a different point of view from the norm when discussing the fact that conformation dog shows usually require an intact dog as a prerequisite for competing and earning championship points. The next article is from a man about his dog, his new puppy, and how Rusty really had an impact on his life. It wasn’t the impact he expected titled How Did This Dog Happen? A Tribute to my Breeder by Sam Hoffer. And finally this issue closes with A message from Havanese Rescue.
As always throughout the magazine are various dog spots filled with your contributions, photos of Havanese sent in to us from literally around the world. I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I do.

THIS IS NOT A CLUB MAGAZINE. We are not affiliated with the Havanese Club of America http://www.havanese.org/
or the Havanese Fanciers of Canada http://www.havanesefanciers.com/
although I would like to think we have an excellent working relationship with both.
WE ARE NOT AFFILIATED WITH Havanese Rescue in Canada http://www.havaneserescue.ca/
or the USA http://www.havaneserescue.com/
but there is nothing I wouldn’t do for them, to help with their respective missions.
