Fangs - 2 Left

Hi, Mikie is now 7 months and still has his top 2 baby (and adult) teeth in his mouth. Vet wants to remove them now that he is over 6 months and they are not even loose. What to do????

Scooter had to have 5 teeth removed but Murphy's all fell out on their own. I think it can mess up their bite if they retain baby teeth.

When should we expect all baby teeth to have fallen out?

Dexter had to have those two removed. The teeth were the longest teeth the Vet had seen. Dexter had the teeth removed about at 8 or 9 months.

I just had Dickson's last remaining baby tooth (fang) taken out about a month ago (he just turned 10 months when it was taken out). We had to wait a couple of weeks because Luna had a small bout with kennel cough maybe and the vet wanted to make sure Dickson didn't catch it from her. His teeth are doing fine.

It can mess up their bite if the teeth remain. Since Mikie is past 6 months, you can ask your vet to remove them when he is neutered. That way the dog only has to go under anesthesia once and it's easier on your wallet too!
