I'm wondering if anyone's dog twirls before going poo. Willow always does one to three twirls, always clockwise. Our neighbor's lhasa apso also twirls. However, he goes counter clockwise. Now this is not a scientific study by any means, but now I'm wondering, if the dog twirls, maybe females go clockwise and males go counter clockwise?? :)

Very cool! I knew about this phenomenon with foxes hunting, but never in a million years would have associated it with what we call "the potty dance"!

Mia twirls counter clockwise, and around again while she's going and sniffs the first piece, then finishes LOL! Thankfully she's never tried to eat it! But most of the time she goes in her litter box on the porch. We had to make the box bigger so she wouldn't be twirling and stepping in it!

Timmy is a "bi" twirler, he goes round and round and round. Sometimes he takes so long I ask if he'd like a newspaper to read. Mae is such a busy body that most times she'll just "go" while we're walking and just keep moving. :pound: I have to read Dave's link, not sure if he's pulling our legs or not.
