Calmer than most pups?

My 6 month old, Pongo, is much calmer than the other pups we meet. He's just as destructive at home, but he's afraid of more aggressive pups. His idea of fun at the dog run is to sit and chew sticks. He does have a couple of dogs he frolics with- both chihuahuas, so smaller than he is. Is this typical of the breed?

Hi Eve! I'm not sure about your question since my Baci is only 14 weeks old, but I can tell you that he TEARS around the play area, while playing with the only other puppy in our puppy playgroup. And that other puppy just happens to be another Havanese.

I love Pongo's picture. He and Baci look like brothers

Ha ha- he looks like a brown version- very cute! Pongo tears around the house AFTER we go to the dog run. He definitely prefers being indoors...

Yep, he's brown... And getting lighter in color each day. Pretty soon he'll be milky chocolate!

Our puppy playgroup is inside. I'd love to get together with other dog owners outside, but it just hasn't worked out so far.

My other dog, Watson, was a calm puppy, and was a bit more sensitive, fearful than most puppies I knew. He certainly loved and loves to play, but often prefers to sit out, surveying the scene. We've been going to the dog park for a couple years, and more often than not, he just likes to walk around or stare off into the distant people park. He has a couple good buddies, and if they're around, he'll tear it up, running and wrestling, but even the breeder knew he was the calmest one in the litter, and recommended him to me based on my personality, household, etc. My Havenese puppy is a feisty, rambunctious girl. It's nice to have different personalities, but to tell you the truth, there are some days, I wish she were a bit more like him

My Sophie is a live wire. And quite hysterical. I have often wondered if most Havanese pups are like her or if she is a particularly active girl.

They are all different! My boy was probably medium intensity, my girl is another little spitfire!

I wonder if girls are just more feisty and playful. Scout is very quiet and peaceful. He just likes being next to us and having a massage. Truffles is a girl on the go at all times. When Scout is sleeping Truffles will attack him. She will growl and bite to get him to play and run. It is so cute to watch. When Scout has had enough he will run over and sit next to us.
