Question I'm going to meet a potential Hav up for adoption tomorrow

I am one of about 5 or 6 people being interviewed tomorrow to adopt a 1 1/2 year old Hav tomorrow am. I'm hoping that he (Che) picks me. I have a Scotty right now but I want to start volunteering for Therapy Dogs and have found in my research that Havs are really good for this. Any hints or tips. Che is a male and so is my Scotty. Both are fixed.

Hi Lise,

Good luck with the interview! 1 1/2 yrs. is still very young so I'm sure you can teach the dog a lot of things and reassure him that he's now in a loving home for a long while. Does he have a history of abuse, neglect? Bad health? Why was he brought to rescue?

All those questions can point to whether he will be compatible with you and your Scotty. Two male, or three male Havs usually have no problem with who's boss and territory. I have no idea how your Scotty and the new dog will adjust , as I know nothing of Scotties.

Do let us know what happens though, o.k.?

Adoption in 1 1/2 hrs!!!!!!

Apparently Che belonged to an older lady who moved from a home to an apartment. The woman at the rescue said that he is a lovely dog, as I told her my goals for my future Hav. My scottie doesn't seem to like larger dogs but when my daughter got a mixed ****zu he accepted him into our household. The ****zu comes over all the time and my Daughter and I share babysitting them when each other goes away.http://www.havaneseforum.com/images/...ilies/croc.gif

Does that mean you pick up Che in 1 1/2 hours or the interview is in 1 1/2 hours? Congratulations if its the pickup!!

Smile Pick me!

No I was going to be interviewed. It went well there was at least 4 other families coming to see him so I'm not sure. He was sure active and friendly. I could see how you can catch the Hav bug!
I'll post when I find out. Thanks for the support.
