does anyone feed california natural?

does anyone out there feed california natural? after 2 months of recovering from pancreatitis, and having to switch djangos food since he refused to eat wellness, we've been on the california natural diet, lamb and rice small bites for 3 weeks and he loves it. only problem is his poop is rather hard. he's always had soft BM especially with his illnesses but since he's been on the california natural, he's BM is rather hard. wasn't sure if anyone else has had the same experience with their dog.

I tried California Natural chicken and rice and mine just did not like it. The kibble size was so large. Figuring it was the kibble size, I tried adding some water to soften it, tried adding toppers and tried crushing it up...all to no avail. I gave the bag to my daughter and her dogs loved it. I will have to try a small bag of the lamb & rice small bites.

BTW....for the brief period of time they were on it, we didn't have hard stools. The opposite.

MacGyver has eaten the lamb and rice small bites for 2 years now -- no problems.

I was feeding Scout the Large Bites Lamb and Rice to Scout because I was looking for a larger kibble (so he would chew and not swallow it).

But I think he is allergic to some ingredient in there because he is chewing his toenails now. So, I am switching him to something else. But his poops were nice and firm (not too hard or soft) when he was on it.
