Santa Ynez Valley Calif.

I would love to be able to talk and visit with other Havanese owners in my area , we are VERY rural not a lot of people My groomer says there are a least two in our valley, however she won't give me their phone number citing privacy concerns. I hope that one or more will see this and answer. Molly is six month old now and I would love to have her meet other Havanese

Have your groomer mention it to her other Havanese clients and she can give them your phone number or email if they are interested. Would love to hear an update on Molly. I know things were a little tough when you first got her.

Thanks for your interest. Molly is doing better but not great. She can go 10-12 days without a "mistake" but doesn't want to go without one of us watching and with a treat. I am beginning to think that she is saying NO PAY NO PLAY. I am hoping we can get her house broken before El Nino gets here as we got 40 inches last time while our normal is 17. I should mention that her mistakes are usually because we missed the signs or we were distracted

I would really like to meet mi amiga Molly. My Momi and Popi used to live in SLO but not for 10 years now. I live about 5 hours drive from SY now. When we travel your way, we will be sure and stop by.

I tink Molly is doing GRRRRREAT for a 6 month old. Just be patient. Take her out every two hours and say, "let's go potty." If she goes give her the treat. If she doesn't go, try again in an hour or less. Don't show her the treat before you take her out. Keep her guessing for right now. After she goes then show her the treat. After a few weeks, cut her back to a treat every other time, and then gradually reduce the treats over time. It worked for mi!

Post more often with news about Molly and her progress. I wish you would post a foto of her!

besos, Ricky Ricardo

Glad to hear Molly is doing better. They are very smart pups both good and bad for us right? It wouldn't surprise me if she has connected potty with treat and won't go without one. Will she not go unless she sees you holding one? I would continue giving her treats, she will eventually go without getting one.

I'm from PA and we had a lot of snow last year too! My husband would put a tarp out before things started and would periodically go out and shake the snow off and put the tarp down again. Most of the winter we had a pretty nice sized patch of winter grass for them to use.
