Cleaning Eyes

When I'm washing Willow's face, I have noticed from time to time that she has goobers or something in her eyes. Sometimes, it's hair and then the other day it was some part of a piece of grass or something. It's not in the corners, but right over the center part or iris of the eye. When you see this, do you try to get it out or just let it work it's way out by itself?

Django always has goop in his eyes. I just take a soft flat cotton swab, wet it with warm water and gently wipe his eyes from the corners out. Usually anything that's there gets wiped away. I do this every morning

I've never seen anything on the surface of my dogs' eyes. I soften the gunk with Colyrium on a cotton swab, then comb it out with a fine toothed face comb.

I think his allergies cause his eyes to water especially after a walk. if i don't keep his eyes clean, that goop hardens and then it's almost impossible to remove, even with a comb. As the weather begins to cool, allergies will diminish and so will the nasty goop.

She does get stuff on the surface at times. It never seems to bother her. I don't know what Colyrium is, but I'll Goggle it.
