Talking Afternoon at the dog park...

We took Scooter & Murphy to our local dog park yesterday, this was a first for all of us. Scooter was very shy and stayed close to us, he'd put his tail down whenever other dogs approached. He was quite wary of all the new kids. Murphy barked his head off so we were reluctant to let him off the leash. Finally we thought "why not" and let him off. He loved it and ran around with a few other dogs. He played a bit but was not his usual crazy self. I guess we'll have to visit a few more times before they're completely comfortable.

Fun shots. I love the shot of Murphy and Scooter from the back. Murphy has really grown up! What a handsome boy!

It definitely takes a few trips to the dog park before most dogs get comfortable enough to really romp and play. It looks like it was a nice group of small dogs to play with. What fun!

What cute pictures, Ann! I wish we had a dog park down here. Abby doesn't have anyone to play with! And no, we are not getting another

Looks like they had a good time. And I think they just have to learn it is a fun place and some dogs take longer than others. Dora has never been a huge fan of playing with dogs at a dog park, she walks around and find her cool place and observes. But that is good cause usually I am busy chasing down you know who. Easy to spot cause Dash is running behind her thinking she is his hero.

Thinking of adding a Neezer, check out this thread!

Wow, Ann . . . didn't even recognize Murphy . . . he is beautiful and all grown up! What a handsome guy!!

I have never taken Jackson to a dog park, and my son took him to one this weekend in Raleigh while he was keeping him for us. He said Jackson was the most social dog at the entire park as if it were his job to meet and greet each dog individually. I think the obedience class has really helped, and I have also been taking him to our nearby playground to be around children since he always seemed shy around them too. I'm sure Murphy and Scooter will get less timid as they continue to go to the park and have other outings.

Great pictures Ann!

Murphy is all grown up and so handsome, love his coloring. Scooter has the sweetest face and I love his curls. Have you ever considered cording him??? Even though I am not too fund of the look, but I think he would look great.

I love your picture #15, I think it is, with both Scooter and Murphy standing together and looking away from you. And, #4 (?) with Murphy in the air.

I enjoy looking at out beautiful dogs so much!
