Just an idea

I'm unsure if I can write suggestions in this forum but, I was wondering if the website designers could add a tab to add our pets? Their names, ages, weight, vet history? Just so it would be easier to answer questions per the specific pet. Just an idea!

Well, it's unlikely that you'll get the site owners to add anything like that, but we can certainly use this thread to add information about our pups to introduce ourselves to the newer folks! This is me and my oldest boy, Kodi. He is 10 years old. He is the top-ranked Havanese in World Cynosport Rally with an ARCHMX (Master Champion) which is the highest rank possible. He also has titles in many other sports. He is also my bestest buddy. He is a big boy, at 11.5" and 17.5 lbs. We say he's our lap-and-a-half Havanese! All the more to love! He has gone camping with us since he was about 10 weeks old, and is just the best traveling companion. He'll go anywhere and do anything. Loves hiking, kayaking, camping, visiting really ANYTHING as long as he can do it WITH us! (that last photo is just a small portion of his ribbons, since it was taken a number of years ago!)

Pixel is our next one. She is 4 years old, and our mini-mite. She does not want to be a show dog. She thinks her job is to be my husband's heart dog, and she does an EXCELLENT job at that! She is 10.5" and 10 lbs. She and Kodi are by the same sire. She is very well trained and a beautiful heeler but she prefers to be home with her Daddy over the show/trial environment. But she does enjoy long walks with her big brother and little sister, as well as going on camping trips with the fam. Oh, and she has one other weekly chore... Doing the laundry with Dad. It's her job to ride EVERY load up and down the stairs! She is also the most athletic of our three. She is a flyer!!!

Next in age is Pixel, at 4 years old. She is out mini-mite and my husband's heart dog. She is 10.5" and 10 lbs. She doesn't compete, but she is absolutely the BEST at what she does, which is watch out for her Daddy! Her goal in life it to be ON him whenever possible. I'm OK too, but mostly when he's not around! LOL! She has had quite a bit of obedience training and is a beautiful heeler. But she says she'd rather stay at home and cuddle than go to shows, thank you very much! OTOH, she also loves our camping trips and long walks in the woods as long as she can go with her big brother. (actually, she and Kodi are by the same sire)

Oh, and she does have one other weekly chore. It is her job to ride up and down the stairs in EVERY single load of laundry!!!

Last is Panda. We didn't MEAN to get Panda. We weren't LOOKING for another dog. We already HAD one half-grown puppy. (Pixel and Panda are only 8 months apart) But she was the right dog at the "wrong" time, bred by a friend. I went to temperament test the litter and it was love at first sight. When my friend offered her to me, there was no way I could say no. She is three years old, 10" and 13 lbs. She's not fat, just more substantial than Pixel, who is lighter boned and has longer legs. Both are well within standard and in good weight. It shows how much variation there can be within the breed!

Panda is my coming-along competition dog. She shows in conformation as well as obedience and rally, (titled in both) and will compete in agility if my body will cooperate! She's ready, I, at the moment, am not! She is funny, sweet, cuddly and has a DEFINITE mind of her own. She is the one MOST likely to want lap-time, and the only one who sleeps in bed with us. (the only one who wants to) but also the one most likely to give you "that look" and take off and do exactly what she wants if it suits her. She's a diva and she knows it!

Oh, also not sure what you mean about vet history. By the time a dog is 10 years old, they've been to the vet a lot of times!!! LOL! My dogs are overall quite healthy. Kodi has some allergy issues, well controlled. Kodi is neutered, Pixel is spayed, Panda is intact. Kodi and Panda go for Chiro intermittently because they are both competitive sports dogs and I like to keep them in tip-top condition. That's about it.

Wow that's awesome! Your sweet pets are darling! It's so amazing how much they have accomplished! I have a loving Havanese named Sasha-Bear. I'm training her to become my service dog for my anxiety. There are tons of pictures on my Introduce me posts. She's 6 lbs right now and was born 02.05.19. she's had a lot of health issues. Parasites, sensitive stomach, and a UTI. Hope we can become friends!

I agree that it would be nice to have a thread for introducing ourselves, but I also feel like one already exists somewhere . . .

DH and I got a Havanese because he is allergic to almost every other dog, including other hypoallergenic breeds. Chamallow Brűlé is French for burnt marshmallow, and her call name is Shama, which rhymes with mama.

Shama weighs 8.5 pounds and has her CGC. We do obedience for fun, and we also do agility.

Welcome to the forum!

Annie
