I'll do one!

When you say brick red, do you mean brownish red...or red with a little brown?

Background...remember how mine was busy last year? Is it better to have a plain color or small pattern?

Do you think that smaller dogs work better or does size matter, like portrait or landscape? I know variety is the spice of life...but I want to get it right this time!

I didn't just get havanese, I got a lifestyle!

Lemme out of here, she has hats and a camera...

Oh no Riki, here she comes with those velcro hats she made us wear last Easter.

Yeah, Daisy, remember how we had on outfits too...wasn't it humiliating. I could take that outfit, but the hat...I had to shake it and shake it till it came off because she put velcro on it and there were holes for our ears.

Well Riki, I did look cute, even if I couldn't stand it.

Well it is going to charity so I guess I can tolerate a little bit of silliness, okay Daisy....

Riki, you go first!

Cute, cute, cute! Actually the train conductor's hat was one of my plans. That was the first thought that crossed my mind. However, that said, when I begin, the blocks seem to take on a life of their own. You just never know. Sometimes the fabric dictates it.

Can it be done if you don't know what you're doing and have never done anything like this before? You bet, there were a lot of quilting virgins the first time around, myself included . . . and I don't even have a sewing machine.

Size actually doesn't matter....that is just personal choice. Like Paula's block--she makes her havs very small and it is wonderful. I make mine quite a bit bigger or have even taken up the whole block with the head, and that works out great too.

The background fabric is also personal choice, however,if you had chosen even the same print but those houses were smaller in scale,it would have been less distracting and your dog would have popped from the block visually. See what I mean? By the way---I almost never--never use a solid color for a background. I tend to pick fabrics with a small scale print or a marbling effect or something like that, but that again is just personal choice. There really is no "right" or "wrong" Linda. Go with what you love! That is what makes it fun!

The red--I want to use a brick red ...a deeper tone then a fire engine red. I'm praying it works out this time. I've been trying for a red quilt for 3 quilts and still haven't did it!

Absolutely Ann! Pm me and I'll send you a tutorial I put together from year 1 on a simple technique(mostly all pictures--so it is big and I send it in two parts). If you want to look at it--please let me know. I'd love to have you on board!

Can it be a helmet or does it have to be a hat?
