Geri there is also Lost Pet USA | The Essential Tools to Reunite You With Your Pet. This is an in depth step by step procedure to find your lost pet and NO CHARGE. FindTOTO has a charge associated with it.
I am wondering if it would not be a good idea to have something on line here about these two avenues of locating lost pets? Maybe a special thread/forum for pet recovery?
This is why I am one of those "mean people" on the forum who always points out that no matter how bad the dog looks they need to go and have it scanned and advertise they found a dog. Our dogs along with many drop coated dogs can look like hell after just a few hours on the street, often people judge the circumstance of the dog by appearance of the dog alone, this is just not fair. I hope they go door to door, often people think they are helping and just have no clue.
Good! I am just surprised the little fellow has been at large so long. He must be with someone by this time...at least I hope so.. Still praying for a good outcome.
Flynn, you'd be surprised at how easily these little guys can hide!
Robbie, I agree, it doesn't take them long to look a mess! We have always taken in a dog that looks to be missing. We were able to find one owner by calling the vet clinic where his rabies tag came from. He was a Bouvier and the vet knew immediately who he belonged to! The owners were frantic and rushed over to get him and offered us a reward which we declined. Just hoping that someone would do the same thing for us, if needed.
Yes, HRI is definitely involved and are posting updates which is what I have been putting in here. I didn't hear anything about yesterday so I guess he hasn't been found. Anyone who lives anywhere near Plant City is urged to come join the search if possible. They can use all the help they can get since it is a large area to canvas. Please continue your prayers - we're not giving up on Charlie!
Just read this on facebook on the Havanese Forum group:
"Charlie has been captured by his former foster and others who were out looking. They are on their way now to the ER to have him checked out. That's all I know. But PTL, he's been found!" Hope he is OK.
Charlie has a large wound on his back/side, has a fever, he's dehydrated &
remarkably calm or/and exhausted. He's at the ER vet who is caring for the wound
and will stay overnight for more fluids, meds and observation.
Still send prayers!
I think prayers do come true...have been praying for Charlie, as I know so many have...just let us hear he is okay..:whoo::clap2::bounce::cheer2::thumb:
This was the first thing I checked every morning and the last thing at night. So glad he's been found, a little worse for wear, but found and being cared for. Get well soon, Charlie!
I was off-line for a few hours and found this great news when I got back! Hopefully, Charlie will be recovered fully very soon. I'll pass on any new updates I get.
Update: One of the HRI Volunteers picked Charlie up from the ER Vet's this morning and he is going to work with her (Vet's Office) so he will be watched there and given fluids if needed. He ate this morning and was being a model patient she was told! Things are looking up for Charlie!
There is a missing Havie in MO now so we need to be praying for this little girl out in the cold. Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes for Charlie - we know prayer works!
I'm so glad that he's been found. That's great news.
