Puppy not gaining weight....suggestions?

Hi all!
I recently got a second Havanese puppy. Her name is Hazel and she will be 11 weeks old on Tuesday. She's such a love bug and we adore her! She and my 1 year old Havanese Bentley have been getting along SO well. They love each other already, and getting a second dog was a great decision for us.
She had her checkup at the Vet last Thursday 4/20. She was perfectly healthy, except the vet said she is about 10% underweight which was alarming for me, given that I'm already an overprotective momma (she's only 2.3 lbs). She hadn't gained any weight since her last vet visit with the breeder, which was on 4/3....and actually lost .2 lbs. Vet checked her stool for parasites/worms, which came back negative.

I had been feeding her dry puppy food (Lifes Abundance, which was what the breeder had her on). I would soak it to make it slightly soft, and let her eat as much as she wanted 3 times a day. I've notice don't that she doesn't like if it's too mushy...for some reason she prefers the crunch. However she isn't nearly as good of an eater as Bentley was at that age. The vet suggested I leave dry food in her ex-pen all day, which I've been doing in addition to meals three times a day. I've also been giving her some wet food (Merrick puppy plate) which she gobbled up at first, but sometimes is still picky with. For instance today she just picked at it for dinner. In addition I now give her a little high calorie vitamin paste with each meal.

Any other suggestions on how to make sure she gains the proper amount of weight?

Thanks everyone!!

She is precious! Try not to worry too much about her weight as long as she is eating, drinking, and acting normally and checking out healthy at the vets. I spent a lot of time worrying about my girl after I got her because she was eating about half as much as the breeder said she would. She has always been a tiny little thing. She continued to gain weight slowly and just reached 7.5 lbs. at three years old. Her appetite improved at about 18 months old and I think I finally found a food she seems to like. Molly is one of the smallest pups here on the forum and maybe you are going to end up with a little one too!

her weight is not as important as how she feels. Does she have a nice covering of "meat" over her bones or can you feel her ribs and spine through just a layer of skin? If she feels nice and covered, it may be that she is just destined to be a small dog. OTOH, it is a bit unusual that she has lost weight at this age. If you are concerned, I would consult with your vet.

Your girl is adorable! Which food did she end up liking?

She has a plump little "belly", but you can feel her spine a bit which is actually what the vet pointed out to us a few days ago . Vet said she's otherwise healthy, just a picky eater so suggested we try wet food in addition to vitamin paste.

If she has a belly and her spine is showing, she could have parasites. Did you have a stool sample checked for worms?

Yes we did that on Friday and it came back negative, no parasites/worms. She has otherwise been doing well, full of energy and has 3-4 normal stools per day, no diarrhea/loose stool/vomiting.

Molly ended up liking Nature's Variety limited ingredient lamb and peas. I top it with their freeze dried or raw lamb mixers, add her probiotic and a little water and she eats it up. Nature's Variety was recommended to me by my pet store because they coat their kibble which they said may make it more appealing to my picky eater. They were right!

Truffles was a pretty small puppy. I mix her kibble with moist food in the beginning.
