loose joints

My 10 month havanese Lola (8 lbs) has extremely loose joints. I have two puppies so I know the difference. How can I explain what they are like? The only explanation I can think of is they are cat like. She can put her paws over her head and she can rub her eyes. When you hold her she feels kind of like jello. All of her joints are very loose. The vet doesn't think it is a problem but I am so afraid of them dislocating. Has anyone heard of this and should I be concerned.

I doubt there's a problem if she is not showing any problem symptoms. Twinkle fits your description and she's 13 with never a missed step. They are very flexible. So much so that the OFFA hip ratings depend as much on the holder while the Xray is taken, as the actual hips themselves.

Kodi can (and does) put his paws over his head and rubs his eyes too. I guess, because he's my first dog, it never occurred to me that this was something that some dogs can't do.

I'm constantly amazed at the positions Snickers can get her body and paws into. I'm a little different in my concerns than you though... I worry that her eyes are infected - or her ears are bothering her. So far my worries have proved groundless.

Galen is very loose jointed compared to Smarty. She is like a little contortionist.

loose joints and no more bones for lola

Just had Lola in to the vet for what was diagnosied as colitis or maybe pancreatitis (waiting on blood work) - she has had bloody stools after me letting her eat the meat from a prime rib bone $500 later she is okay (no more bones for Lola).
But the xrays showed her joints and they were normal. So I guess loose joints are nothing to be concerned about.

Ouch, please keep us posted. Was the bloody stool new or on going?
