my new white puppy

Hi everyone
I'm new here and just getting my male hav in 3-4 weeks. From pictures he seems all white and I was wodering if white puppies stay white as they grow. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks and can't wait for Billy.

Welcome, from what I've seen , yes they tend to stay white. Molly had one peach ear but that is gone. She still has a bit of peach on her body and that will fade in the summer. Is this your first dog.?

no, I've had many dogs in my life but this is my first Havanese. A few months ago we lost our 14 year old, 100 pound Lab/Shepherd mix. So this will be quite a change. By the way, our last dog was all black. So this will be a change on many levels. Thanks foe the info.

Gryff was a little darker when we first got him and he's whitened up a bit. He has a bit of a darker color on his ears and down the center of his back. Your dog will most likely stay white - just keep him out of the mud!

Let him get as muddy as possible! Beanie loves to get wet and muddy in the creek...I let her dry, then the dirt falls right off...then a quick brush...good as new. Don't be afraid to let Billy act like the dog he is!

Congradulations! And welcome to the world of Havanese! It's a wonderful world! Yogi is my first Hav also. I've had many dogs and many breeds over the years, but now that I've discovered Havanese, I'll never have another breed. Yogi's so perfect, she has turned my dog-disliking boyfriend into a bit of a dog fanatic. He even wants another! Your puppy will bring you much joy!!!

You're in for a fun ride. Just keep your toilet paper locked up and you're good to go. If you plan on bathing him yourself, you might want to consider one of the whitening shampoos. It took me a long time to figure that one out.

Good luck with your new baby. He's bound to keep you laughing. Just know, they're just like potato chips, you can't have just one.
